El esqueleto del vertebrado

Tras el nombre Kangding Ray está el francés David Letellier, graduado en arquitectura, creador de instalaciones y piezas cinéticas que exploran la percepción sonora en el espacio. En cuanto a escultor, él mismo define su trabajo como “un intento de expresar el sonido como una forma en movimiento”. Con el alias Kangding Ray responde al perfil característico de los artistas de Raster-Noton, el sello de Alva Noto, donde ha publicado cinco discos en la última década. Previo a la puntillosa brillantez tecnológica e intelectual de Raster-Noton, Kangding Ray fue guitarrista, sin que su carrera evidencie haber incurrido en la menor contradicción.

Su pasado rockero ha marcado una trayectoria en el lado opuesto a la cultura clubber desarrollada en cabinas de DJ y pistas de baile. Esta peculiaridad creativa viene a desmontar la categorización instrumental en favor de una visión global de la música, con independencia de qué artefactos se empleen para crearla, sean analógicos o máquinas. ¿y qué nos queda de aquel chico que tocaba la guitarra con sus amigos por diversión?

Por encima de cualquier otra cosa, Kangding Ray da importancia a la estructura ósea del ritmo, antes de pensar en cubrirla con músculos y piel. No se muestra remilgado con los acabados, si puede dejar el bastidor de acero a la vista.

“Azores EP” ha sido publicado en Figure, el technolabel de Len Faki, evitando la impoluta disciplina Raster-Noton para meter sin miedo los pies en los charcos de cerveza. Contiene cuatro tracks vigorosos, premeditadamente dirigidos a la pista de baile -con todos los respetos- para mayor gloria de la escena berlinesa. “Azores EP” es techno industrial contundente, emocionante y funcional, diseñado para subirte las pulsaciones de inmediato, hacer que te muevas y dejes de pensar.

Cautividad

En la película de Jarmusch “Solo los amantes sobreviven”, Adam llama zombies a las personas normales. Hacerles abrir los ojos a la realidad es un trabajo titánico, para el que ya no tiene ganas ni fuerzas. Además, es un proceso súper desagradecido. Normal que en “El show de Truman” a Truman (Jim Carrey) no le siente bien que Christof (Ed Harris) le confiese que su vida es una ficción prime time. ¿Qué pirado va ofrecerse ahora a despertar a Neo en “Matrix”, si te expones a que te parta la cara cuando le sirvan el rancho?

No te quede la menor duda de que la existencia es inmensamente más rica y extensa que la vida que has elegido. Posiblemente hayas tenido que arrancarte los ojos para no ver lo que hay más allá de tu rutina, o hacerte el dormido cada noche cuando se mete en la cama contigo. De todas las personas que podrías ser, de todos los héroes que podrían hacer a tu madre sentirse orgullosa de haberte parido ¿esto es todo a lo que aspiras? ¿Esta leonera es tu zona de confort?

niet! no viene a consolar tus remordimientos, ni a acariciarte el lomo, tirado en la alfombra narcotizado, con la cena en la boca a medio masticar. Es la voz de tu conciencia, reptando desde el sótano, en un monólogo interior que susurra, que aconseja o desalienta, que se ríe de tus inseguridades y te azuza para que te atrevas a saltar. La oscuridad no es más que un sueño en el que mirarse al espejo. Presto a bajarte los pies al suelo, un incordio de Pepito Grillo, mitad ángel mitad demonio, salta de hombro en hombro con los labios pintados de carmín. Todos somos doncellas en coma echadas en un prado de flores, esperando con las manos cruzadas en el pecho a que llegue un príncipe a rescatarnos y nos brinde una vida nueva.

En algún momento se disipará la niebla, en algún momento callarán las sirenas y volverán a los abismos del Egeo. Abrirás los ojos en Oz, en la Yanna o en The Grid o donde prefieras. Te sentirás ebrio y exonerado. Cuando liberas un pájaro de la jaula ¿cómo no va a sentir vértigo?

SOOLEE is introduced representative techno DJ in South Korea through world wide brand «We Call It Techno» celebrating 20th German Unity. Annually he played most biggest festivals and clubs in South Korea such as World DJ festival, Global Gathering Korea. He’s self-developed sound effects and programming make his sound different with any other DJs.

He shared his various color of progressive and experimental sounds about electronic music through his own albums (commercial for domestic) ‘ease into it’, ‘flash light’ and ‘breath’. last year he got fame with a live set with his own music on TV music program. As a Media Artist He prized from KGIT international media arts competition with his interactive audiovisual performance band ‘Future Jazz’ and selected Big Boy which means next rookie in Korean Arts scene. F.ound local magazine introduce him as «Unbounded unlimited future musician»

His Techno album ‘Circle Back’ and “I was insane last night” are well supported for Alex Bau, Black Asteroid, Anderson Noise and many other. Also Circle Back is introduced CLR Podcast for celebrating 200 episode by Black Asteroid. Soolee is signed for Sienna Obscure label for artist and his full-length debut album and co-worked album with Black Asteroid will released early of next year. He established ‘Less n Less’ label with Jin Kim since 2012 and making history of underground Techno in Seoul.

Inner Surface Music are very proud to present Grey Branches a new project by Yves De Mey. It brings together his love for straightforward technoid tracks and his known interest in experimentation. Grey Branches deliberately aims at the floor without losing the focus on sound design. It serves as the ideal output for Yves’ take on distorted rhythms and linear arrangements.

‘Exsolve’ opens proceedings with a truly unique take on broken techno rhythms, playful yet commanding synthesis intertwines with low slung baselines. ‘Lower Bounds’ enters us into a psychedelic dimension that we have never entered before, slow robotic drums and synths bleep and modulate as we enter the void to float into a parallel universe. ‘Binate’ stomps and kicks with ferocity, the synths build and swarm like a giant mechanical wasp ready for the sting. A powerful and dynamic track that will encapsulate any dance floor.

‘Plangent’ is an experimental modular workout a perfect amalgamation of sounds that melds between metallic and organic sound sources with great intensity and precision.

About the artist:

Yves De Mey’s musical path consists of many different roads. During the second half of the 90’s, his releases were clearly rooted in breakbeats and UK drum’n’bass. Soon after that, through working for theater and dance performances and doing large scale sound installations, his interest in experimental sound design found its way into his music.

In 2009 his album «Lichtung» was released by the influential Line label. Around that time, De Mey’s main tool in the studio became his ever-expanding modular synthesizer system. This definitely changed his way of working and obviously his sound as well, shifting from an elaborate niftiness in the digital realm to an obsessive cable-patched shaping of the real sound of electricity.

In 2011, Sandwell District found the time right to widen their dance-floor techno-scope and released De Mey’s Counting Triggers, a 6-track album that interprets club music in a downtempo electrified fashion. 2013 was an extremely busy year with remix duties on SonuoS, and releases on Modal Analysis, Opal Tapes, Archives Intérieures and others.

Yves De Mey also works together with Peter Van Hoesen as Sendai, and they both run Archives Intérieures, a label for challenging and sophisticated electronic music.

REVIEW: ONTAL «ONTAL 1»

Ontal es el proyecto colaborativo creado en 2011 por los serbios Boris Noiz y Dekode. Ambos absolutamente centrados en el techno más oscuro y apocalíptico, escupen piezas mecánicas sobre escenarios de futuras posguerras, ciudades desoladas y terrenos calcinados.

Tienen muy claro su objetivo: retorcer los límites de la música electrónica con creaciones intensas y únicas. Llegar al extremo al tensar las cuerdas. Para ello utilizan el material que han ido acumulando en los últimos años, donde abundan propuestas cargadas de energía, así como la experiencia lograda tras varias actuaciones en Europa. El futuro más inmediato del proyecto es publicar unos pocos releases anuales que contendrán colaboraciones y remixes de varios artistas con los que comparten una visión similar del sonido. Un buen ejemplo de este tipo de alianzas es este release, que incluye dos versiones de 2nd Gen, un misterioso noise-maker, de los que cuesta sudar sangre averiguar información referida a él. El disco ha sido masterizado por Voidloss, respetadísimo «señor oscuro», lo que nos hace entender que estamos ante un dúo al que no le falta buenos contactos en el terrorismo sonoro más underground.

En definitiva, proyecto para paladares curtidos. Melindrosos, absténganse.

Joining various party crews in Leipzig, Markus made himself a name as a highly skilled techno DJ.

At the same time, Markus came to appreciate deep and raw techno and following to the dubtechno sound. Till this day, deep and raw techno and dubtechno sound are his main influences. When turning to produce electronic music himself in 2003, he chose to express his versatile style preferences in his own works as well – making tracks and live acts ranging from deep techno with dub elements to raw techno. in the last years he has published on countless netlabels[insectorama/nulabel/deepindub/tropic…]worldwide. In the middle of the year 2012 starts his own 12inch techno recordlabel «pragmat».only for his own interpretation of pure deep and raw techno with dubtechno elements. He himself describes his sound as techno that you feel approaching from the rear of the hard but deep with chords echos and delays in a 4/4 pattern dubtechno construct.

AND REGRESAN A ELECTRIC DELUXE CON «COSMIC MICROWAVE BACKGROUND»

AnD son un enigmático dúo de Manchester que saltó a la fama en 2001 después de una serie de lanzamientos de techno complejo y resabiado. Los componentes son puristas del vinilo y mantienen una ética producción analógica, algo que demuestran perfectamente en sus contundentes actuaciones en vivo. Este enfoque purista ha sido respaldado por tribalistas del Reino Unido como Squared y Idle Hand, mientras que su ideología sonora ha sido empleada por los visionarios sellos Horizontal Ground, Black Sun Records y Repitch. A todo esto, hay que sumar que cuentan con el respaldo de artistas como Regis, Surgeon o Lucy, entre otros.

Después un primer release en Electric Deluxe, «Kundalini EP», ahora regresan al sello con un álbum completo al que definen como «la contemplación sonora del cosmos, tejido con todas sus metáforas industriales». En realidad podría considerarse como terrorismo sonoro y cavernario no apto para oídos desentrenados. Pero a la vez es una visión genuina y firme del techno. En cualquier caso no es un disco de un solo matiz, hay algunas anomalías incluidas que te darán un respiro.

«Cosmic Microwave Background» se publicará el 20 de octubre y se presentará en el showcase que Electric Deluxe acoge en el festival Amsterdam Dance Event. Será una actuación muy especial porque tendrá lugar en el legendario edificio industrial Gashouder y cerrará la noche.
