Maurizio Cascella’s debut on Wonder Wet Records, a first single with an unarguably techno flavor. Cascella is formerly known for his Elettronica Romana productions, a label which marked a specific period in history in the Italian capital, through a style and sound that has included performers like Brando Lupi, Attilio Tucci, Donato Dozzy and Giorgio Gigli. Founder of Concrete Records, Cascella treads his path with a sophisticated, unordinary sound.

A side – Old Rose: it is distinguished by the constantly present rhythm, sometimes experimental but without ever losing the groove, which in turn supports the architecture of the track lending space for creativity to the bass and the leads.

B side – Black of Mars: a markedly techno sounding track with rhythmic construction, it takes you into a hypnotic and unravelling world, expressing a very contemporary way of making electronic music.

About Maurizio Cascella:

The first thing you notice upon entering Maurizio Cascella’s studio is the huge amount of vinyl; a sign of great passion and knowledge about music. His talent is dedicated to House Music, contaminating electronic with afro and jazz sounds; a peculiarity that makes him an extremely eclectic Dj in the local radio. Maurizio began his career at a very young age: at only sixteen, he carved out important spaces in the best clubs of the Adriatic coast. Passion, study and instinct, are the ingredients of his success. In a short time period, his innovative style brings him to play in the most exclusive clubs in Italy. As a teen Maurizio collaborated with the Argentinean Mazzarulli; the first recording experience is “Keeping Depth EP” on the label UMM.

From Pescara he moves to Sardinia to experience nights over nights and Successes over successes. For fifteen years he has been behind the console at the Blues Café of Porto Cervo and other Italian clubs. At the same time, he organizes events for the Ritual of Baia Sardinia, raising local levels of absolute artistic and musical value. In Sardinia, he met the owner of the Club Goa of Rome, Giancarlino. Between the two comes an intense musical and professional understanding.

When the time came for the big jump; Rome became the artistic home of Maurizio. Who comes with a storm of ideas emphasizing a creative pluralistic identity. Italy’s Capital adopts him, keeping him tight; Maurizio has today a strong bond with the capital by collaborating with the Roman club GOA.

The summer on the island is a catalyst that will attract DJ producers such as Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Marco Carola, and many others. A catalyst of new exclusive locations, parties, Jet-Set. There is a short step in the expansion from Italy to Europe. London offers him different sets to perform. In 2005, he began a permanent collaboration with the Drunkey Monkey and with Bar 54. He also plays at the club Sosho and Retox during evenings. His music resonates from the Thames until Danube.

Stroboscopic Artefacts celebra su quinto aniversario. Con solo mencionar esto, nos vienen a la mente las ediciones especiales de coleccionista, el obsequio amable con el que los sellos se miran el ombligo, ensalzando a sus propios artistas en una gran gala de promoción. Pero el sello de Lucy no va de ese palo. No hace concesiones de ninguna clase a la autocomplacencia servicial. Pese a tratarse únicamente del primer capítulo de la entrega, Sa5year es sorprendentemente sesgado y austero. Del repertorio de techno prodigioso que disponible es sus vitrinas, Stroboscopic Artefacts nos deleita con un concentrado proteínico de solo 4 temas.

Las caras de este tetraedro reflejan lo más representativo de la casa: el techno gélido de los irlandeses Lakker, que se solidifica nervio arriba en pequeños cristales crujientes; la pista de baile industrial del londinense Perc, de músculos agarrotados en convulsiones espasmódicas; la misteriosa profundidad del argentino Pfirter y la gradiente experimental de Rrose, que evoluciona más allá de lo reconocible. Bravo por el cumpleañero, un sello que no se recrea en el pasado cuando se trata de adelantarse al futuro.

EL CICLO DNIT CAIXAFORUM BARCELONA ANUNCIA NUEVA TEMPORADA CON DEAN BLUNT, PLANNINGTOROCK, RAIME Y KASSEM MOSSE

MIRA 2014 ANUNCIA SU PROGRAMACIÓN COMPLETA

La próxima edición del MIRA Live Visual Arts Festival, que se celebrará del 6 al 15 de noviembre en Barcelona, anuncia la programación completa. La cuarta edición del festival, que amplía la programación a más días respecto la edición de 2013, contará con más de 50 actividades repartidas entre la Fàbrica Fabra i Coats, el Arts Santa Mònica y la sala Razzmatazz.

Por áreas, el festival contará con más de 37 actuaciones -la mayoría de ellos con show audiovisual-, 7 artistas visuales, 7 instalaciones, 3 workshops de 3 días de duración -bajo el nombre de Live Visual Arts Camp- y diversas conferencias y actividades gratuitas de difusión.

Los artistas que se suman a los ya anunciados son: Factory Floor, Max Cooper,Luke Vibert, Oscar Mulero & Fium present Biolive, Rush Hour presents Hunee + Young Marco + Antal, Ralp, Sunny Graves, Lucas Gutiérrez y Space F!ght.

Sleeparchive’s influential minimalistic power appears in combination with the unique, endlessly evolving sound of Mike Parker together for the first time on the RPTCH04 split EP.

Sleeparchive starts off on the A side, creating industrious textures with ‘Fifth Station’ followed by two locked grooves that lead to A4, ‘White Angel Breadline’, a mesmerizing track with Sleeparchive’s classic timbre and brightness.

Mike Parker is responsible for one of the most recognizable sounds of Techno which is characterized by sublime, fluid atmospheres and neverending hypnotic sequences. REPITCH Recordings introduces him on the B-side with ‘Flying Nerves’ and ‘Lustrum’, leaving an indelible mark on the eleventh release of the Italian Berlin based label.

 Mike Parker bio:

Mike Parker’s recorded discography spans 20 years. His reputation has been growing as he continues to release original, challenging techno music with a unique and artistic vision. Sonically, Parker’s tracks encompass the powerful sub-bass polyrhythms of hard techno and the sublime atmosphere of analogue synthesis. Almost all of his recorded material is created live with no edits and no overdubs in the final mix. Parker’s sound is pure as it is raw, yet elegant and refined.
Trained as a visual artist, Mike is known for designing the editions of his Geophone imprint with limited edition screen prints and many records from his back catalogue are considered to be collector’s items.

Hailing from New York, Mike Parker is an outstanding DJ who brings original and exclusive tracks to every gig he plays. His recent gigs in Tokyo, Athens, Rome, Berlin and Brussels have solidified his reputation as a techno ambassador and selector extraordinaire.

About REPITCH Recordings:

REPITCH is the result of the collaboration of two young artists from Naples: Ascion and D.Carbone. The duo starts from the exploration of several different music, always reconnectable to techno and minimal. With the passing of time and after three years living together, they start to develop their own project. Shapednoise’s contribution turns out to be significant to introduce a highly individualistic and experimental style. REPITCH is not only music for clubs or the umpteenth label following pop stream. It sounds without prejudice.

The project sets up as an experimentation of many music forms that tend to cross the canons dictated by dance floor. From «Raw Techno» to «Industrial» and «Deep», from electronic music to almost abstract sonorities. It revisits also what has been the «old school», drawing it near futuristic arrangements. La Tierra Prometida

Abdel sacaba buenas notas en todo, menos en gimnasia. Sus compañeros de clase se burlaban de lo delgado que era y le tiraban balones cuando miraba al otro lado del patio. Cuando supieron que le daba vergüenza cambiarse en el vestuario y que evitaba las duchas a toda costa, le acusaron también de oler mal. Aun así, que se sepa, Abdel nunca denunció abusos. Cuando interrogamos a sus padres, en ningún momento lo describieron como un adolescente especialmente introvertido. Negaron tajantemente su conducta religiosa integrista y decían ser los primeros sorprendidos por la conversión de su pequeño, un muchacho simple, tímido y estudioso que casi nunca salía de Edgware Road.

Tumbado en la arena, Abdel pasará otra noche al raso, preguntándose cómo describir el sonido de la felicidad. Cree reconocer la esperanza como un silbido, mientras la fe es un susurro y el amor un tintineo. ¿Y cómo expresar el sonido del odio? El odio aúlla como un chacal, aunque el rencor sea mudo y hueco, como la sombra en el interior de un pozo. ¿Y el orgullo? El orgullo jadea como una serpiente que trepa un risco. ¿Y el honor? ¿Cuál es el sonido del honor? ¿Y el de la venganza? ¿Se parece al de la dignidad? Piensa que la venganza es la hija desequilibrada de la justicia y suena al roce de las sábanas de los despechados que dan vueltas toda la noche sin lograr dormir.

Abdel finge tragarse las mentiras de los iluminados que intentan adoctrinarle. No le importa la purga, ni el cielo, ni los herejes. Solo desea que lo abracen, que lo llamen hermano de nuevo y sentirse en casa por primera vez. Solo busca llenar el vacío en su corazón con puñados de piedras y aceptar, con los ojos cerrados, esa esclavitud que le brindan disfrazada de libertad.

Syntax Error Biography:

The world of the deep and groovy techno music is the well-known territory of Syntax Error. Having started as techno DJ in the late 90ies, he soon found his very special sound favoring deep wobbly bass-lines, harsh snares, FM tones and drones, deep bass drums and tricky percussion. Like a syntax error, he breaks with commonplace regularities and creates a wholly new sound experience that is highly recognized within the techno scene.

Up to 2014, he has produced over 20 different 12” releases on the labels Snork Enterprises, Feinwerk, Relax2000 and UNDERtheGROUND Records. JONAS KOPP DEBUTA EN TRESOR RECORDS

El próximo 10 de noviembre Jonas Kopp publicará su álbum de debut «Beyond The Hypnosis» en Tresor Records.

El 29 de septiembre se publicará el EP «Red Plented», como adelanto del disco.

Si algo ha demostrado Jonas Kopp a lo largo de la última década, es que puede desarrollar musicalmente casi cualquier cosa que se proponga. Desde su debut en Mindtrip Music en 2006, ha logrado acumular una amplia y sólida discografía a través de diferentes aspectos de la electrónica.

LUSH: ELECTRÓNICA EN EL TEATRO PRINCIPAL DE BARCELONA

Alizzz, L’Étranger, Vallès, Mario Nieto y Optmst actuarán el 10 de octubre en el Teatre Principal de Barcelona.

El reabierto Teatro Principal de Barcelona es el escenario idóneo para conseguir un directo íntimo y cercano al público; una nueva sala en la ciudad que da identidad a Lush.

La primera fiesta Lush contará con el directo de uno de los dj y productores con más proyección internacional, Alizzz. Después de la mini gira por Estados Unidos, de publicar por Mad Decente, el sello de Diplo, de actuar en Sónar, de hacer sesiones por la BBC Radio 1 y colaborar con algunos de los artistas más importantes del momento, el éxito de Cristian Quirante no deja de crecer. Cercano al Jersey Club, Alizzz propone un sonido personal, cercano a la R&B, fresco, bailable y contemporáneo.

El segundo invitado es Ben Thomas aka L’Étranger, joven productor inglés que acumula miles de seguidores gracias a publicaciones como Touché o Falling For You. L’Étranger actuará por segunda vez en España, después de que el pasado enero debutara en sala BeCool de Barcelona en el release del aclamado EP St Lucía de Vallès, del que es el masteritzador y uno de los mixers.

El debut de Vallès, joven productor y dj ibicenco, revolucionó las redes sociales al recibir más de 300.000 reproducciones. Vallès, que comparte con L’Étranger el sonido nostálgico del French Touch de los 90 y lo mezcla con el funk de los 70, será el tercer artista de la noche Lush. Vallès produce un house elegante, con arreglos jazzísticos y una producción cristalina. En el escenario del Principal demostrará su gran habilidad y rapidez a los platos en una sesión que combinará house, neo-soul, hip hop y future-funk.

Después de más de 10 años trabajando y produciendo bajo diferentes alias, Mario Nieto ha dado un tumbo a su carrera desatándose del género de baile y mostrándose al natural. Artista prodigioso a los platos, acreditado por varios premios, encara esta nueva etapa con su nuevo EP, Etéreo, un trabajo de cortes frescos y exuberantes que asemeja a la perfección bass music, ambiente de estética hi-tech, paisajes cósmicos, voces entrecortadas y beats hip hop. El último artista de Lush es Optmst, nuevo proyecto de un reconocido productor del que a pesar de no querer revelar todavía el nombre, ya sabemos que dará mucho qué hablar.

Lush es una iniciativa de Helsinki Pro, una joven empresa de management y booking de Barcelona que apuesta por jóvenes artistas con potencial ofreciendo asesoramiento en marketing y promoción, así como programación de actuaciones y producciones musicales.
